Using fees in an additive manner refers to a configuration where fees are set on a group tier level and on an individual user account currency. Those fees will have different fee names and will be charged on top of each other.

Using fees in an override manner refers to a configuration where a fee set on a group tier level is overridden by a fee set up on an individual user account currency. Those fees will have the same fee name: the lower level fees with that fee name will supersede (override) the higher level fees with that name.
